I have reached part 4/12 so far. And I am pretty much bored listening to Ana drag on and on about her Agoraphobia and her inability to step out from her house from the past 11 months. She spends most of her days drinking alcohol, chugging her psych medicines (sometimes with alcohol), talking to Ed and her daughter (who I believe are in her mind), playing chess, counseling other agoraphobics (as she was a psychologist in her past life before coming to the other side after trauma) and finally spying on her neighbors.
She has been intrigued by her new neighbors “The Russells”. All three of the Russells have visited her so far. They are the only reason I am still listening to this one. Because now I believe the mystery will begin.

Something has definitely happened over at the Russells. Or is it a plot by the Russell boy and mother to make Ana come out or to use her in some way to get rid of the Russell father. I will know as I continue to listen to the book later.
I had a feeling that something happened in the past with Ana and her family. Ed and her daughter might have been killed in an accident. And the separation story that Ana tells everybody is a story she has made us as she is not ready to face the truth. Now I believe that Ana’s story is real. That incident just triggered something else that made Ana this way.

I am with Ana now. Mr. Russell is surely hiding something. Ana tried to save Jane, but couldn’t. She got unconscious halfway between both houses. Now no one believes her when she says Jane is dead. There is a new Jane in Russell’s house. Ana is on a mission to prove that Jane is the fake one. Her suspicions about Mr. Russell being evil are now confirmed after the phone call to his office.

Ana got an email with a picture of her sleeping. But the police believe she created everything to get attention.
I feel so sad for Ana. My intuition about her condition, her husband, and her daughter was correct. Was everything that is happening to her a hallucination? Somehow I doubt this. Something definitely is happening over at the Russells. Maybe will get to know in the last chapters.
To be continued..
