Naomi Carson, is a photographer by profession and lives like a nomad.
She is passionate about her work and earns a decent amount of money throught it.
Always on the move, she finds herself in a small town in Washington.
She hears about an old house on an ocean bluff from the locals and gets curious enough to check it out.
And ends up buying the old house as she falls in love with the view on the bluff.
Contrary to her nature, she starts renovating the house. In this process she makes a lot of friends with the local people and also falls in love with the town hunk, our hero, Xander Kaeton.
She also helps a battered stray dog and end up even adopting him. She names him Tag.
She has a home that she can call her own, a fierce loyal dog and is in pretty good relationship. All things that make her happy and content. She is even thinking of settling down there.
But her happiness is shortlived. It gets abducted when she encounters dead body of a local woman near her house while walking a trail.
The incident takes her back to a particular memory of her past, Where at the age of 12 she had discovered an ugly truth about her father.
Another woman dies the same way and her body is dumped near her house again.
Her brother, an FBI agent has come to look into these murders. And deducts very soon that the murderer is after our Naomi….
If you read the story, you will start liking Naomi just like me.
Nora Roberts never fails to deliver an engrossing story with deep and equally interesting characters.
Although it was easy to deduce who our killer is, I was hooked into the story. I couldn’t stand not knowing what happens next. It was difficult to keep it down once I started. So I ended up finishing the book in around two days.
I would recommend the book if you are looking for something light and engaging to read.
