Last year on February 17, 2017, I published a post Blogging Timeline: Year One, on completion of one year of blogging. To keep my own tradition alive, I am publishing Blogging Timeline: Year Two today on February 17, 2018, marking the completion of another year of blogging. This is also my 100th blog post! YAY! This is a quick and small post to highlight the past year. I am also going to include last year’s graphic in the post below.
Here is my Blogging Timeline of Year Two
Here are some key highs and lows from last year:
- The blogging year started off well with my resolve to publish one post per week. I did well until April. Even for some time, I published videos on my other blog also consistently.
- I started a Monthly Recipe Bucket in March, with an aim to set four new recipes to try in a month and write about it. But I failed, couldn’t keep it up for even a month. Then in April, everything went downhill.
- Due to personal reasons, I went into blogging slump around April and May in 2017. Coming back was tough as I was trying to return from a very bad phase. That time I couldn’t bring myself to try new recipes, so most of my posts from the end of May to end of June were on the meditation apps I was trying or the book reviews. During those days, I was forcing myself to blog, read and write to feel better and it worked. Eventually, from Dahi Baingan, I was back to cooking. I also found one of my favorite reads from 2017 during this period, “A Man Called Ove“.
- In July, with my own twist on Baked Poha, I started my Experiment in Kitchen series. It was experimental even as a blog post series. I posted in this series till I went on another break in September. I published a total of five posts in this series from July to September.
- I did schedule some posts when I went on my vacation to India. And even tried writing some posts from India. But with the marriage preparation and the carpenter work in the new home, I couldn’t keep up with blogging. So took a full-time break from October 2017 to December 2017.
- During my break in early December, I started working on the Experiments in Kitchen Page. I even published the initial version in December. Well, I was back in December, commenting and liking other blogger’s posts, but not publishing any posts.
- From January, I returned full time to blogging. And in January itself, covered the six posts I missed in November and December. I mean the weekly posts, I would have published in November and December.
- I got nominated for three awards, One Lovely Blog Award, The Sunshine Blogger Award, and The Entertainer Blogger Award from December to January.
- On December 31, 2017, I got my first 100 WordPress followers and by January end, 200 followers. Currently, I have 238 WordPress followers. Huge Thanks to all my great followers.
- I started with 40 posts in 2017, and now I am on 100. Wow, 60 posts in a year! Let’s see where I would be in 2019 when I am writing this post again.
- I have started monthly wrap up posts where I summarize the whole month from January, let’s hope there are 12 such posts by next year. Haha!
- Social Media-Wise, I am most active on Twitter and Facebook. I have started a little on Pinterest. Maybe start on Instagram also this year.
- I still use Canva, PicMonkey, and Befunky for editing my images and creating blog graphics. I created the timeline graphic and the title image for this post using Canva.
Two Years Blogging Anniversary
I can’t believe, I have been doing this for two years. I have come a long way when it comes to blogging. And I have learned many different things on this blogging journey and still keep on finding new things to learn.
Happy blogging anniversary to me! I am going to celebrate today by cooking something special. So I am off to the kitchen. See you in next post.
Thank You all for staying on this journey with me. It wouldn’t be the same without you all wonderful readers. 🙂
