The books which I borrowed from the library will finish soon. So now I am on the lookout for next novels. That is browsing Goodreads again. While looking for new books on Goodreads, somehow I ended up on the list of my read books. As with my habit, I start exploring around and playing with the sorting options. One of the filters is “num pages”, ie number of pages in the book. On selecting this option, the read books sort according to the number of books they have.
Soon, I discovered that the longest book on my list has 1168 pages! [Atlas Shrugged]. Although at the time of reading that book I knew it had so many pages. But didn’t knew it is the longest books I read till now. So, here I am listing all the books read by me with more than 700 pages. I will come back and update this list when I surpass my own record of 1168 pages.
1. Atlas Shrugged
The longest one on my list. 1168 pages. I read this one last year. Even wrote the novel’s summary spanning few posts.
2. Gone With The Wind
1037 pages. I remember reading Gone With The Wind when I was working five years back in office. I read this one on the browser on and off. I recall thinking every time Scarlett married now the story will finish. But ended up being surprised by yet another twist.
3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5)
870 pages. I am a big fan of Harry Potter. Remember reading this part as soon as it came out in around two days. I couldn’t leave it out of curiosity of what happens next. Although this one was a bit dull than the other books in the series.
4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7)
784 pages. When I first read Harry Potter’s first part, five parts were out. I waited for the remaining two parts eagerly. I remember buying this one online after only a few days of launch. And finished the same night I got the book. Then read again second time leisurely over the coming days.
5. Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4)
756 pages. Twilight is the series that I read in the form of ebooks. I downloaded them as soon as they were available online as pdf or epub and then read them. This one was no different.
6. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4)
734 pages. Another from the potter series. And one of my favorites too.
7. The Fountainhead
720 pages. The first novel of Ayn Rand I read on a recommendation from a friend. Quite a big novel at that time for me. But the storyline was enough to keep me hooked.
8. Angels & Demons (Robert Langdon, #1)
713 pages. Another favorite of mine: Dan Brown. I have read all the books in this series and even watched all the movies. Although I prefer the novels to the movies.
