I am standing in the kitchen, with every intention to prepare a different recipe. But a question remains on my mind, “Which recipe to attack?” The one that my mother described to me over the phone today? The one I went through yesterday on a blog? That one my husband showed me on YouTube? Or search a new one?
A somewhat difficult decision! Don’t you think?
At that moment, I wish I had several pre-selected recipes.
For moments such as these, I am creating in advance a monthly recipe bucket post. In this post, I will include four recipes: one each for breakfast and dessert, and two random ones. The random recipes could be a soup or curry, or pasta or new kind of chapati/paratha or new cuisine, just not breakfast or dessert.
I will then strive to make one every week.
Then compose a post on each of them separately sharing my experiences.
Here are the four recipes for March’s recipe bucket (the names have the links for the recipes):
1. Breakfast: Chana dal idli
I have made idlis using semolina or urad dal and rice but never chana dal. So when I stumbled upon this recipe, I added it to my list at once.
2. Dessert: Chocolate Soufflé
Ever since I watched this video on YouTube, I am dying to make this chocolate souffle. Another chocolate dessert to add to my belt. You can find some of my chocolate desserts here.
3. Curry: Rajma Gogji
I bought turnips recently and began hunting for recipes using them. I settled on this one which consists of my favorite rajma(red kidney beans).
4. Asparagus and Pasta
Another vegetable I picked up this week is asparagus. Still searching recipes for them even now. The current choice is adding it to my pasta recipe as I always had them in pasta while dining out.
I am extremely excited to tackle these recipes this month. Have you tried them? Which one? If not, are you willing to try them? If yes, make them and share your experiences in the comments.
Also if you want, leave a recipe suggestion for next month. It can be any recipe you think I should give a shot. It could be one on your blog or you found on the internet or your own recipe. I will include ones which I can cook in my next month’s bucket.
