Yay! I got nominated for another award, “The Liebster Award” by Binita @ Educated Unemployed Indian. What is Liebster Award?

 

Well, I have read many bloggers post on Liebster awards but didn’t know what this award means. Thanks to Binita’s award post, now I know what does Liebster means. I downloaded this image from her post. 

 

 

Liebster award is an award that exists on the internet, which is a way of recognizing and admiring bloggers by bloggers. As I said, it is also a fun way of discovering new blogs. Thank you Binita for considering me sweet, kind, nice, etc.

Binita’s Questions

 

1. How did you find the idea of starting your blog?

 

When I started learning to cook after marriage, I used to consult recipes from videos, blogs or written instructions from my mother. And I would modify these recipes according to my tastes or ingredient availability. It was getting tougher to keep all these recipes organized. Since I was free (couldn’t work due to some situation), I decided to start my own blog to document these recipes. And here we are two years later on this blog.

 

2. If God would grant you a wish, what would you wish for?

 

If God decides to grant a wish to me right now, I wish for his help in getting a job as a Software Developer, especially in mobile application development. My education will be put to some productive use and second I would be financially independent.

 

3. What kind of content do you enjoy writing the most? Articles, poetry, short story, daily life, journal, etc.

 

I love writing recipes, my “Experiments in Kitchen” posts and also the Book Reviews.

 

4. We all get angry sometimes, what angers you the most in your day to day life?

 

I get angry when people especially my elders (no disrespect here) bless me to have a baby boy after every chat! First, I will have a baby eventually. And, What’s wrong with having a girl child? Why the preference to boys? I want(request) them to bless me to have a healthy baby, it doesn’t matter if it’s a boy or a girl. 

 

5. Three facts about your favorite book.

 

My favorite book is “Pride and Prejudice”. I loved the bitter-sweet relationship between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. My favorite part is the letter Mr. Darcy gives Elizabeth to answer all her allegations and misconceptions. And both Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are my favorite characters from the book.

 

6. Describe one of your brilliant ideas or your eureka moment or something that you are most proud of.

 

Starting the “Experiment in Kitchen” series on my blog. Earlier I used to just write the recipes. Then I thought that most of these recipes are sort of like experiments that I do with the recipes I discover. So why not name the series, “Experiments in Kitchen“. 

 

7. One word that explains your true self.

 

Optimistic

 

8. Three things you can’t live without in life.

 

Hmm. I can think of only one thing that I absolutely can’t live without – My spectacles, it’s difficult to see without them. The other two things could be my shoes and lip balm.

 

9. Your idea of a perfect day- indoors or outdoors?

 

My perfect day would be a day full of outdoors followed by little indoors. Right now, it will be going on a bike ride along the beach and having a picnic there. Then coming back and relaxing with a good movie.

 

10. Imagine you have a pet if you don’t have one and one day your pet learned to talk. What would be the first thing according to you your pet will say?

 

This is a fun question. The pet will surely say, “Where is my tea?” As either I or my husband is always asking each other that question.

 

 

Passion For Blogging

 

At first, blogging was an escape from my boring life. I wrote recipes and some book reviews here and there. But now, I love blogging and I don’t think I will stop in the near future. I love experimenting with recipes in my kitchen, taking the photographs and then writing my experiences in a post. I have fun in sharing the books I read. And I love reading other blogger’s recipes and book reviews. Through blogging, I have found people who share similar interests and passions. This makes me feel less lonely and part of a community.

 

10 Random Facts About Me

 

1. I recently got a haircut and I love my new look.
2. There was a phase when I used to read a lot of ebooks. But they gave me eye aches and headaches, so I stopped reading ebooks. Now I usually read a hardcopy or listen to an audiobook.
3. I listen to audiobooks while doing laundry, cooking, cleaning utensils, folding clothes, vacuuming, etc, basically while doing household chores.
4. I have lazy days. Days when I do nothing except watching videos on youtube and sleeping.
5. In my teens, I wanted to become a doctor like my father.
6. I don’t eat coconut or foods with coconut in them. 
7. I love dark chocolates. 
8. I am learning Spanish and Chinese on Duolingo.
9. My favorite dessert is my mother’s gajar halwa, can never say no to it.
10. One of my biggest wishes is to see the Northern Lights.
