My Answers
Why did you start a blog in the first place?
Three years back, I moved to the US after marriage. I couldn’t work here legally. And I didn’t have many friends here. So it was getting kind of lonely being at home, idle, doing nothing. It felt as if I am wasting myself. I wanted to do something, anything productive with my time.
During those days, I was trying new recipes. And had to search them over and over again or bookmark them to use later. The recipes I learned from my mother, I would write them in iPhone notes! I wanted to have all my saved recipes in one place. And so started a blog to save those recipes and my experience of making them. One thing led to another, now I have two blogs, one where I write about recipes, books, etc, and the other where I write android tutorials.
Since blogging and reading other blogs takes up most of my time, I don’t have any time to spare for the negative thoughts. Besides, blogging has introduced me to a whole new world of great bloggers who motivate and inspire me and a welcoming blogging community. I am not sure whether I have made any friends yet, but yes that feeling of loneliness is not there anymore.
What is your favorite book?
I have a lot of favorite books. Picking one is really difficult. If I still have to pick one, I would pick Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I have read it maybe 4 times already.
What do you dislike the most?
Eating raw coconut or drink coconut water. If there is coconut in any recipe, I avoid it totally. There is only one exception to this and that is the coconut chutney (sauce) served with dosa/idli.
What is your favorite food at the mall
It depends on what type of restaurants we have at the mall. I normally go for burrito/pasta/pizza.
What is your favorite pastime?
Reading novels or listening to audiobooks. Searching youtube and blogs for new recipes especially vegetarian.
